First you would have to get them to acknowledge that "wildcards" were part of the specification. I have only seen that mentioned in terms of compatibility with old functionality. I've never run across that type of specification, but based on your information I tried this.
After reading your response, I did some Google searches and I don't see where the syntax you describe is talked about. And I'm amazed that the Microsoft support engineer wouldn't simply say what you've said - wildcards have problems or are not fully supported and here's a link to the new syntax that might work or simply give an example like you did. One user on this site was told to do all sorts of things that in the end did not solve the wildcard issue - I wasn't about to do that same with this support engineer.
Since I was unable to install Windows Hub to report the wildcard issue perhaps you could pass along a mention of this issue via Windows Hub. It is sometimes abbreviated and referred to as AQS Looks like they are trying to discourage its discovery. Can anyone help?
